Our tanks have some of the cleanest water you will ever be in.
To start we use carbon filtered water and add eight hundred (800 lbs.) of USP grade Epsom Salt (magnesium sulfate), which makes the solution about 30% salt density. Due to the high salt concentration the water has the consistency of a light oil and it actively kills bacteria.
The tanks are pool cartridge filtered and injected with ozone for a minimum of half an hour between floats. The entire solution is turned over four to five times in 1/2 hour. Our usual length of filtration between floats is one to two hours. Ozone gas kills micro-organisms like viruses, bacteria, and mold. The filtration system is run with ozone when the tanks are not being used and the filter cartridges are changed weekly.
To add another layer of sanitation we also treat the salt solution with food grade hydrogen peroxide and maintain levels at approximately 100 parts per million. Natural enzymes are also added to dissolve oils and lotions etc.
Chlorine, bromine and other harsh chemicals are not desirable in an enclosed tank environment.
We rigorously test the tank solution for temperature, PH, alkalinity, specific gravity, water height, and H2O2 ppm. Fresh water and salt are added weekly to replenish from evaporation and float attrition. The interior of the tanks are cleaned on a regular basis as needed.
The cleanliness of the Tanks and Spa facility is our highest priority. Please let us know if you notice anything that needs attention.
